Daniel Erickson E3 Live Stream Play

Daniel Erickson runs us through some of the game-play on Tatooine. Player mounts new Jawa companion UI all on show.

With a live Q + A this was a great event in its own right. If you happened to miss it you can review the video again below.

With more live feeds for day 2 and 3 this was a great start to E3 :)

  1. I didn't like it one bit. The mobs were few and the PvE was stagnant. Very uneventful. All I could think is how Rift has so much going on in the game and this seemed so blah. I hope they add more stuff and have mobs at least move. Very disappointed with this video knowing it is full game stage. Yes beta, but still needs a good 6-12 months to be worth it.

  2. I think the few and far between mobs are the main concern for most people in this video.

  3. He does state towards the end that Tatooine is a barren place and with the extra mobs it lost its feel. Do not expect all planets to be so empty looking.

  6. Ok it's meant to have little in place to kill. That is the point, I guess, but it doesn't explain the AI being dumb and mobs standing in one place. I saw several lizards rooted in place. At one point he stayed in one place talking about the game and the lizard infrint of him was like a statue. It must have been sun tanning. That is the stagnant stuff I'm talking about.

  7. Yeh it does look a little baron, though when I got the long play time in Austin I will welcome this to no end. As in the starting area's you cant run 10 feet without running into another mass of mobs.

Tatooine should be kind of empty in most places and clusters of mobs every now and them. Quests and such sure pack out the mobs, but keep the open world as it is.
